Logic gates in terraria are the same as in minecraft. Terraria reduces the size of builds becouse of the fact we have actual gates (now) rather then the need to build them. Anything that is possible on minecraft is possible on terrraria in the saying of electrical wise.
Terraria just has different mechanics as its a 2d.
I personally prefer wiring, because the practical uses of it are better. Like traps, it's pretty hard to hide traps in minecraft, but in terraria, acutators make things easy. Plus, the grand design is only in Terraria.
Wiring in terraria is more then just actuating doors and wiring traps. You can build fully functioning calculators, gates, and computers same as minecraft.
In my opinion Terraria is better for aesthetics, Minecraft is better for engineering.
Minecraft is better for engineering is not even relevant to wiring. If they both have the same capabilities then that be counter intuitive.
i don't personally get into the super complicated with either game BUT as far as tools go....Terraria has numerous tools for wiring. I am not sure what "tools" you are referring to in MC beyond for instance like the command block with all its potential for commands.
I really dont see "Command blocks" as anything todo with redstone or wiring. It's basically a block that can give "Commands" via a console. Nothing that involves complex wiring for.
That's still classes them as console triggers. I'm sure the OP is not talking about that.
In terraria you can use announcement boxes and "Command blocks" using tshock mods.
