The bees knees damage?

So i was trying to figure out if ranged damage improves the bees knees damage from the branching swarm (not the initial hit.. I know it improves that) and it seems to me that the damage stays between 9-18 all the time regardless of items or potion buffs.

People even say online that the shark teeth are supposed to improve the damage vs armored targets, however i was just fighting an ice golem and dealing 1 damage and 2 crit damage with the bees and upon switching to the shark teeth i still did the same 1-2 damage.

Drank an archery potion.. 20% damage boost and same amount of pityful damage.

I did however notice a slight damage increase from using a general damage item.. And crit % seems to work and make it proc more often.

This leads me to believe everyone online saying its damage is upgraded via ranged are just copying eachothers ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and dont know what they are talking about.

Actually. The ice golem has way too much defense for the shark teeth necklaxe to help with a bees knees. And it does actually improve the bee's armor penetration.
