Mana sickness exists for balance, but then again, a good mage does not need mana pots...
Mana cuffs + mana regen potions are a better alternative

because of the mana flower you can have unlimited mana for the last prism so they had mana sickness to make it more balanced

Coming from someone who actually knows how to play mage, mama sickness is given for an obvious reason. It's to balance mana potions. Without it, there'd be no challenge for a mage. They have absurd dps when they have mana to use, and mana sickness gives you less, but constant, dps.


Every class has to manage its downsides. Melee has to either be near the enemy or suffer with considerably less dps (unless you factor in yoyos, which also have their downsides).

Ranged is balanced with dps and survivability, but doesn't have a distinct advantage.

Summoner has to deal with eye-wateringly low defense, but easy kills and efficient multitasking.

Lastly, mage has ridiculous damage, but relatively low damage and the added factor of mana usage. The mana flower removes said factor, but keeps the balance with the reduced damage.

TL;DR
So you can't spam the Last Prism.
