Is the Thrower class any good in Calamity?
And also, what is the difference between Rogue and Throwing damage?

It is super fun and I would highly reccommend it. Don't bother with throwing damage, not sure why that isn't completely removed yet. Rogue is just a renamed version of thrower.

calamity is specifically balanced so that all 5 classes are equally good.

Melee struggles early hardmode, but once you get galaxia or ark of the cosmos you're just a really tanky ranger

The best imo would either be ranger or rogue, though it all depends on the boss.
