any method to speed up tree growth?
i'm looking for something that speeds up sapling growth. i'm using trees as decorations for my modded world base, so i'd love to speed up the process of their growth. if there's a mod out there that does this i'd love to know the name, or if there's an item in one of the quality of life mods (luiafk, etc) i'd also love to know what it's called.

In vanilla, using trees as decorations is kind of a fun novelty 'cause you've gotta wait for them to grow on their own. This means getting them in the right height/position can be a lot of work, which means bragging rights when you pull it off~!

No idea if there's a mod for that. But, if you don't care for the novelty...map editors make it trivial.

Thorium mod adds an NPC called the Druid who, along with various herbs and plabt-themed items, sells fertilizer.
This item does exactly what you are asking for.

It's kinda glitchy, but it works relatively well.

I'd like to point out that trees cannot grow when there are background walls behind them. I wouldn't recommend using trees as a decoration unless you REALLY want them, because, as Saver Sigonith said, they take a LOT of work.

I find that map editors work terribly in modded worlds.

I guess that would make sense, actually.

eh, not really. i already know their growth conditions (16 tiles of clear space, either nothing or fence behind, etc). really i need this so that i don't go crazy over house improvement just deleting my trees every time i accidentally leave smart cursor on and switch to my hamaxe. i managed to let 5 trees grow, and i also managed to delete 5 trees.

also, about thorium: is it a memory intensive mod? the world i'm building in is mainly for my shadows of abbadon playthrough, and even installing weaponout makes me unable to play.

I'd expect Thorium's fairly memory intensive. Terraria itself is pretty memory intensive, so any large content mod ought to be as well. (Don't quote me on that though!)

I'll say, I love using trees as decorations but think if I was prone to cutting 'em down by mistake I'd go mad... XD
Move around builds carefully, don't spam weapons and pay attention to smart cursor's yellow square. I actually have smart cursor on Caps Lock so I have a quick indicator if it's on.

noted: although just bopping trees might be unavoidable with luiafk's home improvement accessory xD
thanks for the help everyone!
