Anything special about the Hotline Fishing Hook?
So after over 60 fishing quests I saw that there is besides the golden fishing rod this rod that can be dropped by the angler. I do have the golden rod but not the hotline fishing hook. But the hotline fishing rod is able to fish in lava. My question is can I do something special with that? Or can't the hotline rod keep up with the golden rod even with this?

the hotline hook is used to catch special fish only found in lava or hell its quite useful and can be a good replacement if you can obtain it early game and its the only way you can craft fire ring potions (i forgot the name of it)

You can catch Flarefin Koi[terraria.gamepedia.com] from fishing in lava, which are used to make a fairly useful potion.

Inferno potions are what they are called, sets fire to nearby enemies

I looked up the inferno potion and the obsidian fish can also be only obtained with this rod. and the effect of the potion looks really cool. But I don't know how strong it is. But that doesn't really matter. So there are now 3 things I need from the angler: Hotline Fishing Rod, Super sponge of doom and the unbreakable fishing line. Great.

All the potion does is inflict the debuff "on fire" to all nearby enemeis
Yes, it is good for that extra damage
