Hotbar Automatically Switching Bug

I've been experiencing this glitch for as long as I can remember. So basically, whenever I left click, with a sword for example, I hear a click sound (the same one when you switch slots), and after the animation for the sword swinging is over it automatically switches to a certain slot. This slot changes whenever I mess around trying to fix it or I restart the game. However, I've noticed it only tends to be in the 6 - 9 slots. I've reinstalled the game, verified the files (one always fails to validate no matter how many times I do it), and tried every solution that I've found even though nobody I've seen has the exact same issue. I've already confirmed that this is a problem with the game and not my hardware. Does anybody have this issue? If so, maybe a solution? Your help is much appreciated.

Check your keybindings? Sounds like M1 has been binded to swapping to those slots.
Also if you click on a slot it will swap to that slot, so watch where your mouse is (alternately just click "lock toolbar" in top left when your inv is open to prevent clicking on the toolbar to change it)

I've checked my keybindings and they are all on the default settings. If I try to change one however, after clicking it, it will immediately switch to one of my number keys instead of letting me choose it. Then the game stops reacting to my mouse clicks and keyboard until I restart the game. Thankyou for your help though. :)
