Mage Accessories
Hey y’all! I posted about this a while ago but I didn’t get too many answers so I’m trying again. Basically, I got into hardmode and I’ve gotten some great pre-Plantera weapons, but I’m not sure what accessories to wear. I’m using the leaf wings, mage emblem, and mana flower already, but what else should I use? I have three more spots available and I’m playing in expert mode so please keep that in mind. PS, some people recommend frostspark boots and/or the obsidian shield, but I’m not really into either of those accessories for my loadout. So what do you guys recommend?

God no, don't listen to him. A mana flower (in a bottle triggers) is good, obsidian shield is always a need, celestial shackles to keep your mana regen high, and from there you can go a little bit on your own. The mana flower and shackles should keep you from needing mana to much and you are wearing mage armor so set you accessories to be menacing for maximum damage which should make up for when mana flower in a bottle (IDK the full name) triggers

Mana Flower[terraria.gamepedia.com] is the flower in a bottle. The flower alone is called Nature's Gift. Celestial Cuffs are fine, though I really don't find mages need that many "mage specific" items. I go almost all movement accessories and do fine - it's just personal preference.
What is it you want out of your build, Buster?

Okay, I was hoping I was getting that right. I find the shackles to be useful just because it can keep you away from the lesser damage debuff from the mana flower going off

I agree with this guy, you're doing great with the mana flower, obsidian/ankh shield is a must-have. Celestial Cuffs or the Celestial Emblem (I think that's what it's called?) are good, though I recommend cuffs more. That's my recommendations, anyway.
Also, I noticed you didn't want the obsidian shield, it helps tremendously, especially if you upgrade it to the ankh shield. Also, because you're a mage, you're generally "squishy", meaning you can't get stun-locked, or you will die. That's why so many people recommend it, plus it's 2 or 4 defense depending on which one you have.

Yeah, once you do defeat plantera try going for the spectre armor and if you want more mobility, master ninja gear is decent. The hard part comes with picking healing spectre or damaging. But if you build all your accessories with menacing the bonus damage from armor doesn't really mean all that much anymore so I usually go for healing.

Thanks for all the help guys! From what I read I think I’ll go for the celestial emblem and then pick two other random accessories (maybe the celestial shell and the master ninja gear...?)

And for anyone who wants to know the reason I’m sort of avoiding the obsidian/ankh shield is that the friend I’m playing with already has the ankh shield and being bulky is sort of his thing, so I wanted to focus more on damage and mobility.

Yeah that's fine. I personally don't run ankh on my mage just 'cause it's such a pain to make... XD
You don't need it, and sometimes the extra damage/mobility makes a difference.

Good luck anyhow!
