HELP ME I CAN'T CRAFT BLOODY SPINE!!!!

Hi there human peoples, I need help with something that I don't know how to solve.

1. does anyone know if they have changed how to make a bloody spine?
as far as i am aware they haven't, but when I go to craft it at an alter it doesn't show me being able to make it.

2. Just in case I'm going to write exactly what I did and if I have done anything wrong.

I killed loads of crimson monsters and collected loads of vertebrae 50+ and then went to a crimson demon alter opened my crafting menu directly next to it and the option for bloody spine didn't show.

extra details:

I have killed the eye of cthulhu and crafted the suspicious eye several times.

extra question:

Is it a hard mode only thing? because if it is that's trash because it wasn't like that when i first played the game :(

You need 30 Vicious Powder to make the Bloody Spine. It’s crafted in sets of five from Vicious Mushrooms.

it wont show it to me i go into the crimson thing i go to the place i craft the eye with and it wont show i got the powder two and it still did not worked do i need vertebrae to or something because it wont work

you need the vertebrae, the powder, and an altar to make it.
