Can't find the meteor.

Yeah, I got the 'meteor has landed!' message and everything, looked across the entire world... Is is able to go in caves and stuff? Because I just can not find the meteor crash site ANYWHERE.

Can't hurt to check but that seems unlikely as i read that floating islands are usually below required 600 solid blocks for Meteorite to hit.

World seeds dont determine where meteors drop, just the original generation

I used one and found it it was at the bottom of a really huge lake...

Edit: well, I got the the lake... This is really gonna suck to get, because is at the bottom of a very deep lake. Right now, its night so its hard to see, and im in the desert in the middle of a sandstorm... Its dark, I'm drowning, and the wind is constantly screwing me up... lol.

Try using bombs. Or gills potions. Both work well for this situation. Glowsticks too

Someone had about 10 different screenshots of meteors landing on sky bridges. Not only does this suck, but you don't get much meteor for it. Meteors can land on sky islands, in the ocean, and in other weird areas - I had mine land in a corruption hole, so I completely missed it the first pass by. Meteors can be so cruel.
