Jungle biome question

Hi all. Just got the game a few days ago and am trying to figure out where the Jungle and Underground Jungle biomes are located. I started a few new worlds and went looking. Most of the time my maps had desert on one side of the starting area and snow or a desolate area on the other side. So my question is this: Are the Jungle biomes always spawned further out from the starting area, forcing the player to traverse a couple of other biomes first?

The reason why I ask is that several sources, including the Wiki, state that the Amazon Yoyo can be acquired within the first few days of starting a new game. That hasn't been my experience so far. :)

Its random how far from spawn the jungle is. It will always generate on the opposite side to the tundra and dungeon. I have had jungle very close to spawn, and then had some all the way near the ocean.

Jungle is opposite to snow biome and yes it is a few biomes away in a medium world, you will come to know its jungle as the color of the water will change. And as far as the amazon yoyo, you will need to have a basic armor and weapon to atleast survive the enemies there. Amazon is a nice weapon early game!
