Megashark vs Tactical Shotgun for Golem

I primarily play melee, but switch to guns for boss fights and these are the best two I have. I hear the golem is pretty easy, but don't want to take any chances with the fight.

I have access to both Chlorophyte and High Velocity rounds, and am not sure which would be better for the fight. I also have the bottomless pouch to fall back on if I run out of ammo.

I would recommend crystal bullets with the tactical shotgun. Most of the crystal shards that break up from the primary bullet tend to damage the rather large hitboxes on his head, ( and his body on second phase ) resulting in high damage output.

Crystal Bullets Recipe: ( 1 Crystal Shard + 100 Musket Balls ) = 100 Crystal Bullets

You can find crystals growing in the "underground hallow" naturally.
