Pyramids removed?

I've spawned 1 medium, 5 small and 5 large worlds and not a single pyramid.

Nope. They're just incredibly rare. I've seen around 7 or 8 pyramids in my 2 years of playing i think

Dang it. Never had this problem before. Used to be I'd get one every 1-2 worlds. Maybe I just went from lucky to unlucky.

in 1.1 i always had a pyramid in my world if it was a large but that doesn't make sense that they dropped the rarity
in the wiki it says that the pyramids spawn in the tunnels to the underground desert now.

ah, i see, i was so confused, i've been playing since a bit before 1.1 and i was like "i don't remember pyramids back then"

plus 1.1 had the pyramids at the surface anyways so it was way easier and there was a pyramid every world atleast 1 per world in 1.1

So what I gotta do to find them? Dig exploration pits in the deserts? How far down?

They do still sometimes spawn near the surface.
Their tip i mean sticks out on the surface.

Had it happen like ... twice per several world gens i went through.
but yea they are usually underground.

Found one in a friends world yesterday rather rare but they exist
