(Nintendo Switch) Need help killing the Destroyer, I'm a summoner.
I don't have any friends that play Terraria for Switch, so I decided to make a post on here to see if anyone would help. My friend code is 0067-3255-3332

Wish I could help but I don't have a switch, and I don't want to have to buy terraria 3 times. I love the game but 2 is enough.

Just don't fight the boss. Set up traps and run away, let your summons do the work for you, not like summoners can do anything else anyway.

I tried, the probes always kill me though...

Try using sentries. You can get the Queen Spider staff and the Spider set as soon as you are in hardmode and you have access to the crossover content before then, which should give you some good summoner weapons and accessories to use. Accessories need to be used in Expert Mode, though, and I am not sure if the crossover content is available on Switch yet.

according to the official wiki, it says that tavernkeep's sentries are desktop-only.

Yeah, Switch isn't even 1.3.1 yet.

Bummer :steamsad:

Maybe try The Twins first so you can get the Optic Staff?

Honestly, they're even MORE difficult to fight because of how much they move around.

You are gonna have to supplement your summons with additional weapons, anyway. If you have Crimson in your world and can find a Crimson mimic, try to get a Life-Steal rod. That is the most summoner-like non-summoning weapon I can think of but you can use others as long as you don't rely on them. Use your Spider Staff and an additional weapon against the Twins, then make the Optic Staff and go after the Destroyer. That would be my suggestion.

because of how the destroyer works, geysers would probably help a bit. all you need is a narrow room for dodging space, but small enough that probes don't get in much. You can always resort to potions, and a bewitching table is essential for summoners.

A good strategy for all boss fights is to keep a suspicious looking eye on you. Killing it will lose a bit of time, but on death, they eye drops several hearts. You can keep these on the ground until you take damage in a boss fight for extra healing.

Another way to get extra health is heart statues. There's a weird limit to these, and they do have a cool down, but having them is really worth it.

I still haven't gotten any non-expert crimson worlds. ;-;

Huh, I never thought of using weaker bosses for health, thanks for the tips! :keropink:

Well, the destroyer doesn't really drop anything that can be used for summoner stuff. Unless you intend on fighting Ocram (If they're even in the switch version) you won't be getting much from it. Even then, all you'll really get is armor - And there isn't a summoner set.

I don't believe you need to be in Expert Mode to get a Life-Drain rod from a Crimson mimic. But if you don't have a hardmode Crimson world, anyway, I guess that cancels that out.

Corruption mimics drop a weapon called the Clinger Staff that can be very effective against the Twins when used properly. Shoot it while running away on a flat surface and the persuing eye will get hit by it.
