Recommended Difficulty

Hey,
we're four players, three of them with no Terraria experience at all. What difficulty would you recommand? I'ld tend to expert, but I remember how hard the game can be in the beginning without finding an enchanted sword. ;) I'm afraid that everybody just gets frustrated. On the other hand I'm afraid that normal mode becomes just trivial.

expert softcore is what i'd recommend for first-timers. for future runs i suggest ramping up the difficulty to mediumcore, or maybe even hardcore.

I feel like hardcore isn't very well-designed for multiplayer playthroughs. Sure, it's harder, but it's also means that those that die are just not able to play with them anymore.
