Make a dedicated Chlorphyte farm first it will make your life easier.
Something similar like:

There are many other ways to go about this farm it can be vertical , a large square cavern there are many guides online how to make a efficient Chlorphyte farm (keep in mind the mud blocks need to be spaced properly for Chlorphyte to fully grow.

Also it needs to be in Cavern layer or below.

and ofc after you set up your farm go to the Dungeon and kill every thing untill you bump into Dungeon spirits and kill them aswell till you have enough Ectoplasm.

One more thing about my version of the farm.
I mine everything from inside the square but leave the 4 chlorphyte blocks on the sides as "catalysts' and just fill the empty space with mud and wait till it grows back rinse and repeat.

Over 1500 hours and I never thought to do this, digging out the jungle the old fashioned way without a thought towards farming at all. lol. THIS is why I am a bad player.

If you just need enough Chlorophyte for a set of Spectre Armor and the 40 needed for the DCU, grabbing a couple of Spelunker Potions and looting the jungle should get you there.

For getting the Ectoplasm, make an arena in the dungeon with a platform high enough that you can't see the enemies when they're on the ground. This will allow enemies to spawn underneath you and you can just bombard them and occasionally drop down to collect the loot.

Worth noting when mining Chlorphyte naturally leave at least 1 block of the stuff unmined and cover it back with mud so it can grow back. Its a bit more laborious but it ensures a unlimited natural supply of Chlorophyte that you can mine from time to time while your farm is still maturing.
