Stuck choosing between a ranged weapon. Could use some opinions

I have the choice of either an Adamantite Repeater, or the Onyx Blaster. me and my friend are trying to do the Mechanical bosses and could use the most damage possible for what we have atm. Which would be better?

For mech bosses? I'm gonna say stick to Onyx Blaster and get Ichor Bullets for it they are not hard to craft.

Fight hallowed mimics, and eventually you will get a daedalus stormbow. Combinding that and holy arrows (crafted with hallow materials) you will get one of the most useful combos in the game. the stormbow and holy arrows abosolutly destroys the destroyer, even in expert mode. after defeating the destroyer, you should be able to craft the megashark, which requires the minishark, 20 souls of might, illegal gun parts, and 5 shark fins. The megashark is extremely useful up until golem (and after, it's your choice).

Thanks! Me and my friend actually got a a daedalus stormbow from farming hallowed mimics last night! So I'll let him know and we'll fight the destroyer first :)
