Issue with spawning the Leviathan from the Calamity mod

As I understand it, in order to spawn the boss, I need to kill the ??? enemy that randomly spawns in the ocean. I have a Lifeform Analyser, it's telling me that a ??? is nearby, and the Siren's call music is playing, but I can't find the enemy. I know it looks like the Siren and even glows a bit, so I can't imagine just overlooking it, and I've activated a summon to see if it would automatically track it and find it for me, to no avail. Does anyone know why this it?

Try using a Hunter Potion. If the Anylyzer is picking it up, the ??? should be nearby.

youre correct to say the mod is called "???" and spawns in the ocean biome, ??? is almost like pinky, its a rare spawn.
your best bet would be to use a battle potion + blue candle (if youre only using calamity).
or
get the mod "alchemist npc" and buy the "Zerg" potion from him.

once youve got your potions and what not set up:
go to the ocean > run into the ocean, see if ??? is there > if there, kill it > if not there fly up into the sky/space then re-enter the ocean and look for ??? again, repeat until success

Sometimes they spawn outside of the map, try shooting at the borders at the sea floor.

Thanks. I used Coxy's suggestions to get it to spawn again after going back to my base for a Hunter Potion, and spawning outside the map seemed to be the problem.
