Terraria Server Invalid Command on Save or Exit

While trying t set up a server recently, the Terraria Server 1.3.5.3 program did not exit or save worlds correctly. Upon invoking the commands mentioned (save or exit) the program would run through the process, then end by saying invalid command. For the case of exit, the server did not close nor did the window for the program. Other commands also become unresponsive. Occasionally the connection will be lost. When this happens, progress gets lost in the world, as saving it has become difficult. As you can imagine, this is extremely frustrating for me and my friends. Could anyone provide some help? I don't see why that happens...
I'm only here to ask how to make the server work, i run the bat, i select my world, i give people my external IP, and nobody can join.
Btw; i don't actually do that complex port forward junk, i just assume it does it for me because it specifically asks if i wanna use automatic port forward.
