Grid over cursor

I dont know how to turn off a small grid that follows my cursor please help

On the main menu, go to Settings > Interface. Then turn off "Tile Grid".

No, Smart Cursor doesn't have a grid to my knowledge.

You have a Ruler or Gizmo Pack, sounds like. On the left side of the screen should be a bunch of tiny icons, one is to turn Ruler off and on. Turn Ruler off unless you want to measure something out.

All the building-tool icons for stuff like Ruler, Auto-Painting (Spray Painter tool), wire views and the like show up on the left side. Click them on and off as needed.

I know this is late but i have looked this up and cant find a respond that fits me
i havent bought a ruler/gizmo pack and i was just picking some shadewood platforms out of a chest for the wall of flesh fight and then just a grid showed up like 35x18 can someone help me with this?!?!?!?

As of 1.4 you no longer need a ruler to use the ruler feature
