Just how powerful is the Crystal Storm?

I am doing a spell book only playthrough. My current weapons are the golden shower and the crystal storm. I know the storm will be able to beat the three mech bosses and Plantera, but after that I will have to farm the dungeon for the magnet sphere and I don't know if the storm is strong enough for that. However my main question is whether or not the crystal storm, magnet sphere, and golden shower (for the debuff) will be able to beat Duke Fishron(which I need to kill for the typhoon). If the weapons are strong enough, do I use the magnet sphere or the crystal storm? If I cant find out I will probably just go on another character and fight Duke fishron to see if it is possible. Get a mob statue and wire and then you Just use DPS meter and start comparing

Not a bad idea, but I also need to know if it can beat the duke. Although I could also just compare it with other weapons i'd use for the fight.

Just get hay, build target dummies and have a dps meter (which you should have if you're going for a cell phone).
You should be able to get your dps with that.

I have yet to find a spell that would make me want to go magic and tons of weapons that make me want to use melee.
It's very hard to hold up against things like the seedler or the posessed hatchet.

There are plenty of magic weapons my friend. Last prism, razorblade typhoon, and razorpine are some of my favorites.
