Extrememly Slow Mining
So, I went from a copper to a tungsten pickaxe, and my mining is extremely slow. One hit on a block per one swing of the pickaxe, where there's two for the copper pickaxe. Is this a bug? I know I'm not being hit with any debuffs.

nah, just the copper is the weakest pick of them all, anything higher is 1 hit on dirt, sand, ect.

No, it's that my TUNGSTEN pick is slow. It's only hitting the block one time per swing. Also, my friend has this same problem with all his pickaxes.

According to the Terraria Wiki, it takes 19 frames to mine a block for the Tungsten (19/60ths of a second), which is actually the slowest pickaxe in the game, and the copper has 16 frames/block (15/60ths or 1/4th of a second.) Silver has 45% pickaxe power and is the fastest pre-hardmode pickaxe avaliable.

Hope this helps :D

I mean, copper has 15 frames per block. Sorry, when I checked, I changed the fractions but forgot the other.

Well, my friend's copper pickaxe was as slow as this one.

Were there any modifiers on either pickaxe?

No idea about my friend's, but mine is ruthless.

Well, ruthless doesn't affect speed, so there must be a prefix on your friend's

Are there any prefixes that effect mining speed, not attack speed?

Speed modifiers modify both attack and mining speed, the best modifier for a pickaxe would be Light

Hmmm

But what would be the worst?
