Flying Dragon, the defence-lowering debuff and large projectile, combined with high damage and firerate, make it very useful. Also, it's a lot easier to get than farming Solar Eclipses over and over, hoping that RNG blesses you, not just once, but twice.

Flying dragon is better because you can shoot a procectile through walls and is more likly to hit an enemy than terra blade. Terra blade his only good until mid hardmode because you can get a improved version of it called the influx waver.
But still, use the flying dragon. You are way more likly to hit a target!

Sorry, but that weapon you're thinking of is Betsy's Wrath. The Flying Dragon, " Unleashes the heart's energy forward, " is a melee weapon. Not a mana/magic one. Why is everyone messing this up?

Flying Dragon is better, however, for bosses like destroyer, and any ones that phase through blocks, and go underground. So it's almost like a downgraded solar eruption, but it's not a chain weapon.
