But what you do is when you open it, go to
File > Open > (World you want to edit)
It will take a second to load (for me at least).
You will get a full 100% of your world. Now let me tell you some controls.
If you have a scroller on your mouse, then you can hover over where you want to zoom in and scroll up. If you hold down the scroller (Aka Mouse Button 3), you can freely move around.
Sadly ctrl+[+] or ctrl+[-] does not work on this.
If you look at your tool bar to the right, start from all the way down at the first tool, and move up 4 tools. That is the brush. You can set the size for this however you want. To erase, just press the eraser at the top next to the "Width and Height" changing options. The things to the right are Tiles and Wall. If you do not want to place both at the same time, uncheck one of them (I'll be unchecking wall). If you only want to draw with one block, just select a block on the most upper selecter (or you can use the tool located 2 units above the brush, which is a tile picker, similar to a color picker in MS paint).
Now Masks. This is sort of like changing one block to another, but bare with me. Select the upper most selecter to be whatever block you want to change one block to (I'll be using stone for example). In the mask mode selecter, pick "Edit matching" then under mask, pick any block you want the block to be changed to stone. I'll pick dirt. So now if I color over dirt, it turns to stone! Easy.
Oh, and if you want to purify the land of your corruption/crimson, the lowest tool is for that. Just make sure it's "Purify" to purify it. You can even make the entire world crimson/corruption if you want, or Hallow.
I am going to attempt the right side of options as best as I can. Do know that I don't fully understand this myself.
Under world properties, we have the world name (in which you can change at any time in this). The World ID, revision, and Seed. The seed is for anyone else that wants to play on that specific world on load up. But to do that it's a whole new story, that I don't want to get into. With coding and going into your game files and such.
Now, you can make it so a special event is going on. Just make sure it's night/day for the specific event.
Now, this is a bit tricky. The time depends on the little check mark under it. If it's checked, it means it is day time. turn it off, it's night. Now the little scroller thing above it represents how much time is left in the day. You can make it go to the end so when you enter, it's night time. Or you can make it so it's day, but at the end of the day, so when you enter you gotta wait a bit for night time.
Now look, I don't understand the rain and sandstorm things too much. Number of clouds if you're making your world custom. From scratch. Along with the surface level and cavern level.
You can spawn a meteor, and even make hardmode or even expert mode. I wouldn't touch the "Is crimson" if I were you. I don't know what will happen.
Now you can determine the hardmode ores. I think this is for custom worlds, but I'm actually unsure of what happens if you change it. You can determine if you beaten the bosses, event bosses, the old one's army, saved the npcs (if you don't have them, they'll just arrive like a normal npc during the day), as well as invasions downed.
Now from here on out, I don't know what I'm doing. This is what I learned from my experiences with using it.
