tips for devourer of gods (Calamity mod, expert)

i'm playing the calamity mod (no other mods) on expert mode and can never get past the second form of the devourer of gods. i'll usually get him down to a third or half health and then die. i'm using a long sky bridge with lava on it and a platform above it of equal length as an arena. my equipment:

mythical viscera
rapid claret cannon
godly cosmilamp

full bloodflare armor
affliction (+4 defense)
seraph tracers (+4 defense)
the absorber (+4 defense)
heart of the elements (+4 defense)
flesh totem (+4 defense)
ambrosial ampoule (+4 defense)
elysian aegis (+4% crit strike)

any recommendations for equipment, arena, or strategy would be greatly appreciated

I'm also having trouble with his 2nd form on expert. Now I am trying the trick where you set your spawn point to the middle of your sky bridge since he doesn't despawn. Will update if I make progress.

I think the set up is good im using other mods besides calamity like thorium but you could try the Burden Breaker and take it out of equipment before you go into ludicrous speed or if you get the thorium mod try the Omega Core
