Modern Planter Box Design and Questions
Hello :)
I am too uncreative to tinker a cool planter Box Design for my World, or any farm Layout with planter boxes to start with
And i still have some questions left
Do the farm needs to be above ground and in broad daylight or can i just dig out a cozy cave next to my glowing mushroom farm ?
Do the seeds still need to be submerged in water /lava or is this patched nowadays?

How exactly Do i use the staff of Regrowth, can i just swing the Stick like a pickaxe for harvesting?
And what is an actuator for in a farm?

So, could anyone answer my last remaining questions and link some pictures of planter Box farms?

Bump, also AFAIK actuators make blocks solid/nonsolid. And yes, the SOR can be swung like a tool. Also I don't recall seeds ever needing to be submerged in water/lava.

Actualy before 1.2.3 waterleafs would grow only underwater.
And before 1.3.0.1 fireblossoms needed to be submerged in lava to bloom.

Planters work fine in caves. Just think, four of the seven plants grow underground.

Actuators are used as a harvesting method. Use them to actuate blocks where the seeds will grow into plants, then turn the blocks solid to break everything. Good for crystal shard farms.

Also, remember that planter boxes are interchangeable. The type you use doesn't matter, any seed grows in any box.

I prefer the planter boxes to biome specific blocks for the reason of not having said blocks spawn their respective enemies (...to you, lol). SoR is a must! It will harvest more flowers and seeds, and leave alone the ones that aren't ready.

I, like a good number of other people (surely) just have it all above ground, mainly due to ease of access. Build yourself a greenhouse and have all the planter boxes in rows.
