if I were to go hallow the jungle would life fruits still grow in the ungerground?

No. It would be hallow then, not jungle. They require the jungle in order to grow,

Get some grass seeds and mud and create your own little underground jungle biome somewhere under your spawn. Life fruit will grow there. The plantera bulb can even grow there. Just make sure to include an arena inside your miniature jungle biome if you intend to fight plantera.
