Best sentry for each tier of Old One's Army?
Whick sentry is most effective for each tier of the OOA? I know that the Lightning Aura Rod is really good in T1, since a few placed right by the portal can pretty much kill all the enemies before they get very far. What about T2 and T3?

Lightining Aura is great for all tiers as long as you farmed enough medals for the next tier summons, but I reccomend getting either the Queen Spider or Ice Dragon sentry after you got Hardmode so you can have a bit more help.

flameburst and lightning aura are best in my opinion , i havent tried this yet , but maybe u can put blocks in the air and put the middle of the aura on that
just sayin,in my opinion other too are just too slow/usless :P

Don't forget that you can also support your sentries by reducing enemy defense with the Crimson's Ichor. On Normal world difficulty, you'll add 10 damage to all attacks; on Expert, you'll add 15 damage. You can also try lining the floor with Super Ball Traps harvested from the Lizahrd Temple - just be sure you can get rid of the balls. Or use a Cross Necklace with numerous sources of healing.

I haven't tried conveyor belts.

As for actual use of Sentries against the OOA?

Whatever you do, place Lightning Auras last. While they can be placed next to other towers, other towers cannot be placed within their area of influence. That goes double for anyone wearing a Monk set, as that set increases its radius - for good and for bad.

Honestly though, if you've killed the Moon Lord, I found I had an easier time of using the Last Prism with Nebula armor, than I did with anything else.

Auras are the way to go on all waves, I'd say. I usually have a few platforms out by the portals about 10-12 blocks up, and stagger auras starting on those, next aura on the ground, next aura in the air, and last aura on the ground. Then a harpoon on ground sort of near crystal and fireball in air near crystal. Anything that gets close enough (usually fliers), I take out.

And yes, use conveyor belts. Have them rotate towards the crystal so all items dropped get dumped together in an easy to grab stack. It's not like the enemies will be moved by them, and if you have to rush to the other side to help support, you'll get over to the crystal quicker.

I don't think ichor really helps, though, since the DD2 towers ignore defense/adds it to the damage so its damage is unchanged by defense. I could be wrong, though.

Doesn't work for Lightning Auras, they compensate for defense. Less defense means less bonus damage, leaving you with the same effective damage output.

I think they meant that Ichor is a generally good dubuff to use (when able/applicabe).

And that is true.

Only the Aura does so.
