Just curious, do summoners use any kinda of weapon?

I was just wondering if summoners in hardmode just dodged while their minions fought or if they used like a sword or something to add a bit of damage.

There's no law stating you can't use non-summoner weapons as a summoner...
But if you're doing a pure summoner challenge where you can only use summoner weapons, no, all you can do is dodge.

Well i just wanted to know like if anyone here played summoner before, I mean sword seems risky if you want to stay alive, bow seems unrealistic to me because if someones using summoner theyre already too lazy to kill everything on their own so why would they try to manage ammo and stuff. I guess magic might work well with summons.

As a summoner, I would use summoner weapons and boomerangs or flails, or any ranged weapon that isn't a bow or spell or even a gun
