How do I get rid of this Pink Slime pet?
From Thorium I think.. Thing is annoying as hell and won't despawn even though I trashed the item and reloaded the game.

Try looking where your buffs would normally be and see if there's one for the pink slime pet. If there is left/right click it (I forgot which) to try and get rid of it

Well they work, but I wouldn't recommend running them on a potato (though I'll never heed my own advice). If you simply aren't sure how to install I could help you out.

I got Terraria to run on a now-eleven year old Vista laptop with a measly 2 GB of RAM. Okay it needed 800x600 resolution but at least it worked.

Ah yeah, I don't doubt it. I've got a 1.50ghz processor, 4gb's of ram with integrated graphics and vanilla runs flawlessly, I just mean that things like Thorium up the ram usage a ton. What I can't figure out is why it doesn't seem to be making use of all the available ram.. For instance, I can run a highly optimized Skyrim with 74 mods at perfectly playable frames, and yet I get pretty bad lag in Terraria with Thorium and a couple relatively small mods with low settings across the board. And if I remember correctly, my Skyrim uses over double the ram..

Terraria is a 32-bit application and as such is hardcoded to chewing up no more than 2GB RAM.

To fix this you can either a) restructure your computer architecture or b) install LargeAddressAware, which I have not used but others have highly reccomended so I guess you can use that.

Yeah, I actually tried that already. Patched the tmodloader exe to 4gb and didn't notice any real improvement whatsoever, even though it was using about 200mb's more ram.

Remove the buff then. Also unequip it.

Mhm, this was answered in the first couple comments ha. Maybe I was too vague but yeah, it worked. Thanks though.
