I don't know about TEdit, but I've been using TerraMap's Highlight function to find corruption blocks (I'm pretty sure it can find every block type). I don't have any experience of TEdit though... But if it looks like an in-game map, a Life Crystal should show up as a little red square.

How do you install and use TerraMap?

https://terramap.codeplex.com/ There you go. After you load up your world and change to "All Spoilers" you can go to the blocks menu and check Life Crystal (Tile), then hit Highlight All. Every Life Crystal on the map should be highlighted.

EDIT: I just wanted to mention that I wouldn't recommend doing this. It's pretty easy to find Heart Crystals without cheating.

In TEdit, go to Plugins > Find Sprite, Block, or Wall
You can then enter the name of the block you're trying to find, as well as the quantity you want to find (I would recommend 99999 for anything that isn't a common block, like ores or life crystals), and then it will pull up a list of each individual block, along with its horizontal position and depth. Double-clicking a list item will bring you to the block's location in TEdit.

And me.
TEDIT didn't just disappear and those 'necro' children that get on here need to grow up.
