good way to find life crystals?

just wondering, what are the best locations to look for life crystals at?
im at a stage where im about to take on the brain and bee queen, and after that skeletron, but while i got meteorite armor and enchanted sword + space gun, i only got 280 hp, mostly because its very hard to explore (im on expert) and its even harder to find them hearts.
any tips?
like is there a specific depth maybe where most life crystals are?

Most life crystals from my experience hide in the Jungle, soooo. Yolo and search the jungle i guess.

The specific depth is PROBABLY Cavern level and under if i remember correctly, Don't remember the EXACT numbers doe...

I believe Life Crystals are slightly more common in the underground Snow biome, not sure though.

yeah i spent all of them, i found lots of chests, but life crystals are rear

I often have a much easier time finding them in the Jungle, but I won't bias how my worlds generate versus the facts. It's probably because the chasms in the jungle are much bigger and connective in comparison to other biomes. I'd start looking there.
