planter box?

im trying to get materials for some potions, so i bought some planter boxes from the druid, i places them all, waited about 20 minutes, and i didnt get anything. i went to the wiki for help and didnt find anything. does anyone know how to use these?

They help grow seeds faster and can greatly organize your plants. I know, wiki is a little grey on that subject.

You have to actually plant seeds in them. Placing them down and leaving them will just make them grow a random assortment of flowers that have no use.

how do i get seeds? i went to hell to get fire blossems and couldnt find any seeds

Fireblossums are one of the few plants where their seeds can only be harvested under certain conditions.

Really? Do herbs grow faster in Planter Boxes as opposed to Clay Pots or standard blocks?


My standard herb farm never contains clay pots or planter boxes.... just a long string of dirt/grass/ebonstone/snow/sand/ash ... which allows for industrial collection of plants with one click of a weapon (best to use a gun that has no firing arc, not a pickaxe), and then using Smart Cursor to replant them all.

I go through lots of daybloom.
