how do you get the crystal ball

I want to craft unlimited musket ammo but I need the crystall ball, Im playing normal mode btw since im new to this game.

Yes. The wizard only appears once you're in Hard Mode. The Wizard sells the Crystal Ball, and he'll randomly appear somewhere in the world. Since he's tied up with rope, you have to right-click him to untie him, similar to the Mechanic. He'll sell the Crystal Ball to you.
