What's the point of the Seedler?

I just don't see why it's in the game when the Terra Blade is better in every way and can be obtained before the Seedler. Am I missing something?

Mothron, the easiest enemy to get a broken hero sword from only appears after killing Planterra and you certainly need something fairly powerful to take it on, that is the best response I can really muster.

There are so many weapons that are just useless although you can obtain them only in the late game i don't know why just deal with it

Well, for one, you can get the Seedler without having to deal with Mothrons. You would have to get lucky, getting 3 broken hero swords during a solar eclipse, and you have to craft the Night's Edge and Excalibur.
Their projectiles are very different; Terra Blade shoots out a sword that pierces a little, while the Seedler shoots out a bomb with an area of effect.

The Terra Blade DOES have some good damage, but the Influx Waver is even better, can be obtained shortly after the Terra Blade can, and is not as difficult to get.

I would say they are mostly for collection's sake, or for people who don't want to use the same things over and over.

Mothron spawns after the three mech bosses are killed, which is how I got my Terra Blade before fighting Plantera.

listen, i got my first terra blade pre moonlord, so id recon just getting the terrablade for the achievement. if you already have it then jut skip the terrablade and go to the christmas bells sword, horsemens lade, or the influx wafer

yea but plantera spawns after the mechs aswell. so you can get both at the same time, basically. you can even fight them at the same time if you bring mothron to the planteras bulb and initiate the plantera bulb.

Are you trying to say you LIKE the seedler because it's possibly one of the most bad ass ideas ever?! A sword that shoots grenades . . . hmm hmm, hmm hmm hmm?
