How to end an Invasion early?

While strolling past my dungeon on the way to the ocean (and carefully avoiding the Cultist), I saw a Martian Drone. I got too excited, since I've been looking forward to fighting one.

Skip ahead, the invasion started. I easily fought waves- dying only once or twice, and amassing seven gold.

Then the saucers came.
There's always a saucer chasing me, with 6 aliens max elsewhere. It's killing all my NPCs, and once I die from one and it disappears, another one comes.

It's obvious I'm not strong enough, even with my trusty ol' Terra Blade. My question is, is it possible to end the Invasion early so the saucers will leave? Keeping the loot doesn't matter- I want to be left alone.

EDIT: Don't mention saving and re-entering, because that only reset the event to 0% and oh my god there's another one

No. From what i know of, you need to defeat it.

ye only way is to deafeat it, if you want to avoid the saucer dig a whole underground, I geuss 3 by 5 would do, then place blocks on the top but 2 platforms in the middle, so you can shoot the other aliens, or let your minions do the work

Pretty much that but get a high damage yoyo

If you still have your box from beating the Destroyer, hide in it and use a yoyo (preferrably the Eye of Cthulu, but other yoyos like the Yelets wouldn't be horrible). Also, if aliens can walk in, place a turret or nimbus rod cloud in a place where they prevent aliens from getting in. Also remember to take out it's cannons first, they can hit you while you're in the box. If you do all of these succ-essfully, all you have to worry about are a few projectiles, and explosions if you aren't quick enough to destroy them.

Also, when you're done, replace your Terra Blade with the Influx Waver, Trust me, it's slightly better.

Just saying, You know you can prevent it from happening by destroying the probe. Right?
