Can't catch prismite?

So I've been fishing in the Hallow for almost an hour and have yet to find a single prismite. I've found 3 blessed apples so far from my summon killing pixies, and I've caughted well over 100 of each bass, tin cans, and shoes. It says there's a 1/24 chance, is it horrible luck or a bug?

try using sonar potion's and fishing potion they should really help you with fishing

The problem isn't with the bait. I'm getting plenty of crates with bait, so I catch every single bite.

it could also be youre rod that you use and otherwise just do quest inbetween for angler so you will get stuff to help you fish

Get a Fisherman's Pocket Guide / PDA / Cell Phone and check your Fishing Power.

How big does it have to be? On the wiki there are no specifications for how big it has to be in order to catch prismite. either way, I've caughten nearly 200 bass, plenty of princess fish, and a ton of cans/shoes, so I'd assume the lake is large enough

If you're catching Old Shoes and Tin Cans, then your Fishing Power is probably low. Take a picture of the lake, bait, and rod used and show it to us.

if you are catching shoes and cans then you need a bigger lake and more fishing power

If you're catching Old Shoes and Tin Cans, then your Fishing Power is probably low.

I thought fishing power only allowed fish to be caught faster?

If you have a low Fishing Power, you have a lower chance to catch fish and a higher chance to catch junk. Also, I belive most chances on the Wiki go off of a certain fishing power...50%, I think?

As everyone else has been saying, if you are catching shoes/cans at all, then your effective fishing power is too low.

If your listed fishing power is low, get a better rod/bait or use a fishing potion, or the accessory that increases fishing power, or whatever. Fishing power is also boosted during rain.

If your listed fishing power is high, then your lake is too small.
