can i spawn destroyer of worlds using an item even if my world is crimson?

It's just "Destroyer" and yes, you can.
Edit: Oh, you meant the Eater. You can, but only if you create a corruption biome to summon it it. Crimson doesn't work.

Dont think you can, you'll have to kill the eye of cthulu for seeds / buy seeds from the dryad in a world that already has corruption in it.

You can't. But neither can you get the summoning item, so that doesn't matter. Anyway, if you have corrupt seeds you can plant them on a block of dirt. It will spread on its own after that.
