Was this game in development back in 2008

I have been watching so much Terraria vs Minecraft videos and the comments are hell.

Looking at this on going ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about how Terraria was in development stage (2008) before Minecraft development stage (2009), I can't find anything that confirms this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and I want to see your opinion about it.

There's no opinion to have. Terraria was not in development 2008. It was released six months before Minecraft was, though. Not that comparing the two games is reasonable, they're nothing alike.

The best information I can find is Terraria development began in January 2011, according to the official wiki.
