Grappling Hook Achievement Not Working

So I just crafted my first grappling hook, a regular one, in the game and I put it in my inventory. But for some reason, it didn't give me an achievement. Am I supposed to put the grappling hook in my hotbar? Is there a specific thing I'm supposed to do to unlock the achievement? What am I doing wrong?

You need to put it in it's special slot, try right-clicking it while it's in your inventory.

-> Light-giving Pet (any one of Demon Orb, Crimson Heart, Wisp in a Bottle, some rubbishy Ogre drops (Flickerwick?), Suspicious Looking Eye, and probably the Magic Lantern
-> Minecart
-> Grappling hook
-> Mount


The button to access these is just above where your helmet armorpiece goes.

... many years later .... reviving this thread to say THANK YOU for this!!!! I was having this same issue. I thought maybe it was because I was using a Ruby Grappling hook vs a standard one :)
