I can't really tell from the screenshot but it doesn't look like you have at least 100 blocks of mushroom grass/plants and the fact that the biome is split in two might mean your area of mushroom environment itself is cut in half. Also, he can't move in if other NPCs are waiting for houses either. Not sure what depth it is at, but the fact that it works as a jungle house might mean something in what looks to be a modded Terraria could also be impacting it. I would just try throwing down some more mud and mushroom seeds. Hope this helps in some way, cheers!

Are you referring to the stone house in the middle, or the mushroom-based one below it?

Because if it's the mushroom one, there isn't a light. That's the problem.

is the house itself not valid at all, or is it just that the Truffle won't come?
Cametokur Apr 12, 2017 @ 5:22pm
I recently started playing again and it does say "this house is not suitable for a truffle" or something along those lines, if the house IS a valid house but does not meet the requirements for him.

did you use the question mark tool in the housing menu? because I don't think it would specifically say anything about the truffle being able or not able to live there. maybe it just said "this housing is not suitable"

Just checked, it's "This housing is suitable." if the house is okay, or "This is not valid housing." if it's not. Also, if there's only one or two things wrong such as no chair, table, or walls, but the shape is okay, it'll say something like "This house is missing a chair." or table or walls etc.

was refering to stone house, and as i said it worked when it was a jungle and when i converted it to mushroom it didnt work

i was testing it with the dryad so it should have worked if it doesnt for truffle

I can't tell who you're replying to, but since I can't duplicate it in-game at the moment, this is a wiki entry for the message you get if the biome requirements are not correct:

http://terraria.wikia.com/wiki/Truffle

"When trying to move him into an NPC house outside of a Glowing Mushroom Biome, the player will get the message "This housing does not meet the requirements for a Truffle" on the lower left hand side of the screen" /quote

What "Outside" of a Mushroom Biome means is purely decided by what variables went into OP's construction of the biome and everything within it. Honestly, if you're having a hard time with it, just make a big box of mud, get mushroom grass growing, and try constructing it. Then, you can build around the rudimentary house, making sure that all the changes you make don't invalidate the housing requiremnt.

Cheers.

i figured it out, it was just too close to a crimson biome lmao. when i changed it back to jungle i accidently purified the crimson which allowed it to work in the jungle and not mushroom
