Should I fight Duke Fishron?

I found a truffle worm after a while, but I don't know if i should either book it and just fight him, or prepare a little more and build an arena. Tell me what you think I should do

Duke Fishron I would say is the HARDEST boss in the game, harder than the Moon Lord. Prepare alot, you'll need it. Make an asphalt bridge across ocean, with rows of platforms. Try to get some Post-Plantera Armor for your class, and some good weapons (Thrown Melee, Range, or Magic do good!)

Would frost armor be good for fighting him, or should I use turtle armor?

You should probably have endgame armor if you are in expert, I find him to be the hardest boss.

He's extremely easy to beat with a layered arena, with Vortex Armor, a Phantasm with Luminite Arrows, a Jetpack, and a Shield of Cthulhu/Tabi to dodge. Keep firing at him whenever possible, and if he gets too close, either increase the speed of your jetpack or dodge away with your SoC/Tabi.

Then equip Shroomite Armor with the arrow helmet, and use a Chlorophyte Shotbow with Holy Arrows.

Why do all of you go on about Luminite Arrows against DF? Their piercing is a complete waste of time.

Get your hands on some Ichor Arrows and you can smash him with Shroomite. With Vortex you barely even need to bother dodging.

Frost armor would be awful.

So would Turtle Armor.

You need Post-Golem armor or better.

If you're thinking of fighting duke fishron, make sure to have plantera and golem beaten. They're both several times easier and will advance your gear to where it needs to be. If you're in expert mode, you'll have to learn how to flawlessly dodge him, as he does 200 damage a hit in his second and third forms.

Eh. I cheesed him the first time with a possessed hatchet and cosmic car key. He never touched me. Literally the easiest boss ever.

i beat fishron after plantera with grav potion some decent wings and a tactical shotgun he was too easy

edit. i used chlorophyte bullets

I was playing on console edition. I didn't have a cosmic car key.

so guys, i was playing around with my truffle worm and my ocean and ended up beating DF with just turtle armor, my terra blade, and about 20 campfires and heart lanterns.

in normal mode, yes, exper mode that dosent work in his third form, id reccomend beetle shell, full warding and a "cycle titan" build on accesories, avoid the cosmic car key, use asphalt to get around, build an arena.

(note this build works for him enraged in expert mode)
