The thing is, despite them having a higher chance to spawn nowadays, the desert is usually taken up by the Antlion caves, which seems to block pyramids from spawning there (though it could just be bad luck on my part, so that's not necessarily true?), meaning you'll probably need either a particularly wide desert biome, or a world with more than one desert.
HOWEVER, I think (not sure) they can be generated anywhere there's some amount of sand close enough to the surface, since I've heard of people finding them in beaches and the jungle (not the Lihzahrd temple, regular sandstone pyramids), but this may have been patched out (or never there to begin with?) to restrict them to the specifically-generated official Deserts, which excludes beaches and random patches of sand. That's all just hearsay and conjecture, though.
No pyramids on small worlds (probably bad luck)
2 medium worlds with a single pyramid and 1 medium world with 2 pyramids.
2 large worlds with a single pyramid and 2 large worlds with 2 pyramids.
All the worlds were Normal Corruption
10 of them had 1 pyramid
If you want the seeds for the worlds, add me.
(of course it actually is possible, World Generators sometimes break rules ;D)
can someone find a seed of a small world with both a pyramid & somewhat of a large desert to go with it?
