What is the point to this game?
There is no story... why should I bother to play? Is it just like Minecraft? That game bored me to tears... Need story.

The point is progressing to the end of the progression tree.

More like a tier progression system (as opposed to be able to farm to the level cap on the first area). You explore to find new things, so you can kill creatures to unlock even more things to be found.

yea get better beat bosses gain better weapons and build amazing houses/structures

there is no leveling system tho.

It's just a sketch. It'll be there mostly to justify the new mechanics.

I mean, you can say Terraria has a story, which is "Loads of creatures threaten the world. It is up to you to demolish them".

Pretty much, yeah.

Terraria is a sandbox game. That implies 2 things: one, there is no plot worth mentioning and two, you can do anything you like.

The point is actually to work your way through the bosses, finishing the progression tree after you kill Moon Lord.
