It almost feels like the expert world is there for people who already have the normal stuff, not really a place for a fresh character/world. I tried a little bit of hardcore/expert just to see how laughable it was. (It was less laughing more swearing)
-Softcore is ideal for single player games.
-Mediumcore is good for multiplayer co-op or PVP.
-Hardcore is for when you inevitably over-estimate your ability to survive.
Expert Large World Softcore.
When I play Multi Player with my other 2 friends:
Expert Large World Mediumcore.
When we want do a Challenge like 1 HP Challenge:
Expert Small World Hardcore.
Expert Mode will get you expert-exclusive items, such as the Shield of Cthulhu, Worm Scarf, etc, that are extremely useful.
When it comes down to normal mode vs. expert mode, every Terraria player should do their first runthrough of the game in normal mode, just to get the feel of the game. Once the player becomes more experienced or wants a challenge, it is then that the player should enter expert mode.
I completly disagree with you.
Normal Mode it's stupid and easy, no one should play in that mode unless it's doing something as "Kill Boss in First Night" or "Speed Run", those kind of things.
If you really want to play the game and it's your first time, go streight ahead to Expert Mode because you will learn better, you will be always contrantly learning Battle, be safe enought to don't die every single day and be a better player.
Expert Mode isn't a challenge, it's the best way to play if you want to move around and build stuffs. If you want Challenge, you can do two things:
-The first one is to add some MOD that change something drasticaly as No Armor MOD [All Armors are Vanity] or 1 HP Challenge [As the name says, it's only 1 HP during the entire gameplay] all those kind of MODs that makes the game more challangeable.
-The second one is to use the TerraCustom and remove some Biomes. TerraCustom it's a tool that allow you to set your World the way you want, literally. One of those things are "Challenges" that you can remove a Biome or/and a Microbiome from the game.
So... Why do you play in Mediumcore if you can't handle lose your items again?
I think the 100% purpose to play in Mediumcore it's to lose your items if you die.
I have a hint for you, instead of do that BS, why don't you save a spare build?
In Pre-Hardmode I craft 2 Meteorite Set to do that.
Since I play only Expert Mode, I do rush the Shadow Orb or Cimrson Heart to spawn the Meteore ASAP, I rush Meteor Amor with Space Gun and let it save if I lose the first one.
