how do you make a waterfall?

ive seen pics and junk and i still don't know how to do it
i know theres a glass version of it where you can make it out of lava water or confetti but its a wall, i wanna make a real one using water or something whatevers used to make it

Do you mean with hammered blocks? Or something else?

take a hammer and hit the edge, you will make it "shorter" and it will allow the waterfall.
