Most powerful gun/sword/mage weapon prehardmode?

I'm playing through terraria again (this time without help from a friend with endgame gear :P) and am about to fight the wall of flesh. I think i can beat it as is, but I want to getthe best weapons first. I've been playing around with the bee gun, and it seems very powerful. Is that the most powerful gun prehardmode?

Well the best sword would be the nights edge, the best gun could argued to be the bee gun, pheonix blaster os star cannon and the best magic weapon can be argued to be, diamond staff or demon scythes. I may have left some things out here but thats what I remember

The best pre-hardmode mount for WoF is def the bunny mount however in any other situation the slime mount is more useful

Best gun depends on your playing style, I prefer the Phoenix Blaster or Minishark. The sword is Nights Edge if you are comfortable in close quarters with the WoF or Starfury if you aren't. The best magic weapon would be Waterbolt or the Flower of Fire because of the bouncing effects. If you have the bee gun you obviously were able to kill Queen Bee. Use the Bee Wax to make beenades, they will help you quite a bit.

I didn't mention minishark because minishark does like no damage in expert and eventhough it is unlikely that he/she is playing expert I did not want to give incorrect information

Oh, I'm not in expert. lol i'm noob. And i'm sorta lazy and only like to use autoswing swords. What would the best autoswing sword be?

Don't try to tank the WoF cause it will just push you back.I remember a tread about a noob with solar armor asking for help for WoF.Then when pros joined his world and seen his fightning style,it was because the dude tanked every last hit with it.Otherwise,just throw beenades until it dies,it's pretty powerful in prehardmode.

"Best" is not a good term to use. Best at what? Just highest damage, good piercing, side effects, range, cost, availability, looking cool?

There are a lot of different factors that make each weapon best at something that another is worse at.

For example, the Vilethorn has great piercing, with some decent range for what it is. Plus, it can hit through walls. However, the damage is pretty low.

Meanwhile, Waterbolt has great piercing, essentially infinite range, and it bounces. Not to mention it's damage, and the fact you can use it to find Floating Islands. However, it doesn't go through walls, and can be pretty expensive to cast, especially early on.

*P.S. Bee Gun is not a gun. It does magic damage, thus, it is a magic weapon.

You know what I meant by best. -_- Obviously some are better than others and some are just different. But I'm asking which are your guys favorites/which do you think is most powerful.
Also the Bee Gun is a gun. It looks like a gun and functions like a gun with a small recharge delay.

if you want a guranteed setup get full meteor armor and a lazer pistol
then just use magic boosting accesorries or damage boosting to increase damage.
full meteor set=unlimited firing shots from your lazer pistol.
just make sure you have a bridge long enough for you to walk on and be able to kill the WoF without dying by swiming in the lava
use potions and the fire imp minion staff to give you more damage output

No, I didn't know what you meant. That's why I asked.

My favorites(For most powerful) are:
Melee: Night's Edge
Magic: Waterbolt
Gun: Minishark
Bow: Hellwing

The Bee Gun, mechanically, is not a gun. Sure, it looks like a gun, but in the coding, it is programmed as a magic weapon. It is buffed by Magic Armor and potions. Things like Necro Armor have zero effect.

For wall of flesh, don't use the flower. Bouncing is nice, but it's gravity affected and doesn't pierce through the hungry. Diamond staff has a little pierce and works OK. Waterbolt for more spamming, demon scythe for higher damage but you'll want mana potions for the mana cost. The meteor gun will just wreck everything with meteor armor.

I don't know about gun, but for bow the bee's knees is good. Arrow damage + bee damage. For melee, night's edge for the hungry, and the Amazon for the wall itself works pretty well. You could hang out below the wall, moving with it for sword swings, but the damage from getting ran over is pretty high.
