How do I turn off the yellow box that forces me to place there?

It's in the Options for Smart Cursor. I highly reccomend putting it on Hold instead of Toggle.

It's very useful for
a) making a minecart track skybridge w- Builder Potion
b) making stairs as it auto-hammers them
c) placing background walls as it fills the whole space up

But it's not great for just wandering around...

Does that mean you have to hold the key for it to work? I toggle with F.
