House is missing walls. Where?!

Hi we've just started playing Terarria and began building our first castle. I'm feeling a bit disheartened because all the rooms ive built so far bring up the prompt, "room is missing a wall" Apart from the room on the upper left with the table and chairs which is fine for some reason? I'm not bothered about the basement room being livable, I looked on google and read the natural walls dont count, but i dont see why the other rooms should be invalid? Ive gone over them with lots of times with walls and i cant figure it out.

yeah i thought the top left room was the sketchiest wall-wise, but that one is valid? Are ice bricks not valid walls? I dont really know i just started playing. I'll maybe do-away with the wood trim, i just thought it looked cool like that

Yeah i ice-bricked over the wood-wall a bit where they joined and that fixed it thanks. I didnt realise that was a gap cause i walled over that area loads trying to get the wood to look that way with the cool stripe bit. lol. oh well

You really should make your own discussion for your own problem, but at least it's a similar situation.

It appears that you never removed the background walls that spawned in the world. The naturally spawned walls do not work for NPC housing, aside for a few specific cases.

You need to craft a hammer, and start at the edge of the walls, working your way in. You cannot start in the middle. Destroy all the dirt walls, and replace them with your own. Even your own dirt walls would work, if you want. You just have to place them yourself.
