I'm still working my way through my first playthrough, Don't want wings cause they seem op at the start but i figure a good hook would be fun without ruining my experience :D

according to the wiki it doesn't even compare in range but honestly I'm looking for speed over length. with that in mind, reccomended?

If it's your first experience and you don't wanna ruin the fun, why do you want other people to get an item for you?

Just this one item becuse grappling is my favorite mechanic so far. I have the basic hook but I'm a bit underwhelmed by it. I just thought it was ok to ask for something other than wings cause the forum seems full of that xD

So no recommended hook for specificaly speed then?

Farm Skeletron for his hook,
Kill King Slime for his hook,
Fish for the fish hook,

They're probably the quickest and easiest to get if you don't want to make them.
You can make gem hooks with 15 of their relevant gems
